Israel Aerospace Industries’ BlueWhale AUV Delivered to German Navy: Eckernförde: Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) have announced the successful delivery of the BlueWhale, a large autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV), to the German Navy. This delivery, which took place on February 25, is a milestone in unmanned submarine defense technology and forms part of the German Navy’s “Kurs Marine 2035+” program, aimed at enhancing maritime defense capabilities.

Cutting-Edge Technology for Underwater Defense
The BlueWhale AUV is designed for anti-submarine warfare, reconnaissance, and covert maritime missions. It combines advanced sensor technology, reconnaissance capabilities, and data fusion in a single autonomous system. The AUV is capable of detecting targets both above and below the sea surface, collecting acoustic data, and detecting sea mines on the seabed. This system marks a significant step forward in the integration of autonomous systems within naval defense strategies.
