Military Industries’ Imdadthon Honors 3 Teams for Supply Chain Tech Innovations: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – July 1, 2025 – The General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) today recognized three teams for their solutions to challenges within the military industries’ supply chain sector. This occurred at the conclusion of “Imdadthon for Developing Technical Solutions in Military Industries’ Supply Chains,” a two-day technical innovation event held in collaboration with the Innovation Hub at the Digital Government Authority (DGA) in Riyadh.
Imdadthon gathered over 40 participants, including representatives from GAMI, companies operating in the sector, and students from the National Academy of Military Industries. Over the two-day period, these participants presented ideas intended to enhance the efficiency of supply chains in the military industries sector, stimulate technical innovation, support digital transformation in the sector, and foster open innovation, in alignment with objectives for localizing military industries.

Ahmad bin Abdulaziz Al-Ohali, Governor of GAMI, offered congratulations to the winning teams and expressed appreciation to all participants for their competition and enthusiasm, which resulted in ideas and solutions intended to contribute to the development of the military industries system. This progress aims to help achieve the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
Al-Ohali also thanked the Digital Government Authority for hosting this technical innovation event at the Innovation Hub. This collaboration aims to contribute to the development of national capabilities in technical solutions for supply chains in the military industries sector.
The Imdadthon program included specialized lectures, design thinking workshops, brainstorming sessions for idea generation, and the development of prototypes for proposed solutions. Competing teams presented their projects before a judging panel. The event also featured two workshops on “Emerging Technologies in Supply Chains,” which addressed opportunities to use modern technology and artificial intelligence in improving military supply chain efficiency, along with aspects of developing supply chains for military industries.

During the competition, participating teams worked on presenting and explaining challenges, followed by a presentation on design thinking and its stages. Participants then engaged in an activity to identify user needs using design thinking tools. Subsequently, teams were assisted in defining challenges based on these needs, creating prototypes, and outlining implementation methods until their final design. Under the guidance of mentors, proposals for technical solutions were developed, leading to presentations before a judging panel of experts and specialists.
The three winning teams received prizes, and all participants were awarded certificates of appreciation for their participation and contributions.
Imdadthon highlights GAMI’s focus on adopting technologies and fostering technical innovation for the development of the military industries sector in the Kingdom. It aims to enhance the sector’s role in supporting the national economy, aligning with the Saudi Digital Transformation Program.
