Naval Commanders Conference.
Tri-Services Exercise Trishul 2025: The Indian Navy will spearhead a large-scale Tri-Services Exercise (TSE-2025) named “Trishul,” starting in early November 2025, involving close coordination with the Indian Army and Indian Air Force. The exercise aims to validate and synchronize operational procedures across the three services, focusing on integrated, multi-domain warfare capabilities.
Conducted under the headquarters of the Western Naval Command, the exercise will cover diverse terrains — from creek and desert sectors in Rajasthan and Gujarat to comprehensive maritime operations in the northern Arabian Sea. The participation extends beyond the three services to include the Indian Coast Guard, Border Security Force, and other central agencies, thereby enhancing inter-agency coordination.

“Trishul 2025” is designed to ensure joint effect-based operations that blend land, air, and naval assets. A significant feature is the deployment of naval warships, Indian Air Force fighter and support aircraft, and amphibious operations involving Indian Army and Navy elements. This includes the use of the Landing Platform Dock INS Jalashwa and Landing Craft Utility vessels, showcasing India’s amphibious warfare capabilities.
The exercise places emphasis on interoperability enhancements, integrated network communication, and seamless coordination of platforms, aiming to strengthen the armed forces’ capacity to operate jointly in complex operational environments. It will also validate joint Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), Electronic Warfare (EW), and Cyber Warfare plans — critical aspects in modern warfare.

Of particular note is the exercise’s highlighting of indigenous systems, cementing the tenets of Aatmanirbhar Bharat
(self-reliant India) in defense preparedness. This focus reflects India’s growing confidence in domestic defense technology and the commitment to reduce reliance on imports.
Furthermore, “Trishul 2025” will include Indian Navy carrier operations performed in conjunction with shore-based Indian Air Force assets, emphasizing joint maritime and air operational synergy.
The exercise underscores the Indian Armed Forces’ collective resolve for integrated force deployment and readiness enhancement. It also serves as a platform to refine tactics and operational procedures geared toward countering contemporary and emerging security threats, ensuring sustained national security preparedness.
Through such high-scale joint exercises, India continues to build a modern, agile, and cohesive defense force capable of addressing multifaceted challenges across land, sea, and air spheres.
