Fincantieri-Milaha’s Strategic Partnership for Maritime Sector: DOHA, QATAR – Qatar Navigation Q.P.S.C. (Milaha), a leading provider of maritime and logistics solutions in the region, has signed a pivotal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Fincantieri, one of the world’s largest shipbuilding groups. This strategic agreement sets a framework for potential collaboration in crucial areas including maritime services, project management, and technological integration, aiming to significantly enhance Qatar’s national development objectives, particularly in strengthening its maritime sector’s sovereign capacities.
The signing ceremony in Doha saw key representatives from both organizations. Fincantieri was represented by Pierroberto Folgiero, Chief Executive Officer and General Manager, and Dario Deste, General Manager of the Military Ships Division. Representing Milaha were its President, H.E. Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al-Thani, and Group CEO, Fahad Saad Al-Qahtani.
Both parties underscored their shared eagerness to explore further opportunities that align with Qatar’s national development goals, emphasizing the critical need to bolster the country’s independent maritime capabilities.

Fahad Saad Al-Qahtani, Group CEO of Milaha, echoed this sentiment, highlighting the alignment with national priorities. “The signing of this MoU represents an important step for Milaha in pursuing our strategic objectives as a Qatar company aligned with national priorities. Collaborating with a global leader like Fincantieri enables access to advanced international skills and at the same time promotes the development of sustainable skills within Qatar,” Al-Qahtani said. He added that the partnership will “facilitate localization, promote industrial autonomy and enable an effective transfer of know-how, in line with the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030. It also reaffirms Milaha’s commitment to strengthening its role as a regional maritime actor operating according to international standards.”
