Elbit Systems of America ENVG-B Night Vision Device for US Army: Haifa, Israel — Elbit Systems has secured a new $212 million delivery order from the U.S. Army for the continued production of Enhanced Night Vision Goggle – Binocular (ENVG-B) systems, reinforcing the company’s growing role in the modernization of frontline soldier capabilities.
The contract, announced Tuesday, was awarded to the company’s U.S. subsidiary, Elbit Systems of America, with deliveries scheduled to continue through 2028.
The award marks a significant development in the Army’s soldier modernization efforts because Elbit Systems of America was selected as the sole prime supplier for this delivery order, despite the ENVG-B program historically dividing production among multiple vendors.
The decision highlights the Pentagon’s continued emphasis on advanced night-vision and battlefield awareness technologies as the U.S. military prepares for increasingly complex operational environments and near-peer competition.
Advanced Battlefield Vision for Modern Warfare
The Enhanced Night Vision Goggle – Binocular system is designed to provide soldiers with improved situational awareness and targeting capabilities in low-light and degraded visibility conditions.
The system combines high-resolution image intensification with integrated thermal imaging, allowing troops to identify, recognize and engage targets in darkness, smoke, fog and other visually restrictive environments.
Beyond traditional night-vision functionality, the ENVG-B also incorporates augmented reality overlays and passive targeting capabilities intended to improve battlefield survivability and operational effectiveness.
Military planners increasingly view integrated soldier systems like the ENVG-B as critical tools in future combat operations, where rapid decision-making, situational awareness and digital connectivity are expected to play decisive roles.
The goggles are designed to work within the Army’s broader networked battlefield architecture, enabling soldiers to operate more effectively in dispersed and high-tempo combat scenarios.

Soldier Modernization Remains Pentagon Priority
The latest order reflects the U.S. Army’s continued investment in soldier lethality and survivability programs, which have accelerated over the past decade as military planners adapt to evolving threats and technological competition.
Enhanced night-vision systems have become increasingly important as modern militaries prioritize all-weather, all-domain operational capability and seek to maintain tactical advantages during nighttime operations.
Programs such as ENVG-B are also part of a wider push toward digitally connected infantry forces, integrating sensors, targeting systems and battlefield communications into a unified operational ecosystem.
The continued procurement effort signals the Army’s confidence in the platform’s operational performance and reliability under demanding field conditions.
Elbit Expands Strategic Position in U.S. Defense Market
For Elbit Systems, the award further strengthens its foothold in the highly competitive U.S. defense market, particularly in the area of advanced soldier systems and electro-optical technologies.
The company has steadily expanded its U.S.-based manufacturing and defense operations in recent years, leveraging its American subsidiaries to compete for major Pentagon programs while aligning with domestic sourcing requirements.
Bezhalel “Butzi” Machlis, President and CEO of Elbit Systems, said the latest award reflects the confidence the U.S. military has placed in the company’s technology and long-term partnership approach.
“We are proud of Elbit America’s role as a trusted partner to the U.S. Armed Forces, delivering cutting-edge night vision systems,” Machlis said.
“The continuation of orders under the program originally awarded in 2023 is a strong testament to the performance and trust placed in our systems.”
He added that the company remains focused on developing technologies that provide military operators with “the clarity and confidence they need to succeed in any environment.”
The contract underscores the broader strategic importance of advanced optics, sensors and battlefield digitization technologies as armed forces around the world accelerate investments in next-generation infantry modernization programs.
