Indian Air Force, USAF begin joint military exercise Cope India 2018

Indian Air Force has started the fourth edition of bilateral joint military exercise Cope India 2018 with United States Air Force on Monday.

Twelve day long Cope India 2018 military exercise is conducted in two air bases – Kalaikunda and Panagarh in India and will go on till December 14.

This is for the first time that this exercise is being conducted at two air bases.

USAF’s F-15 aircraft at Kalaikunda Airbase in India.

United States Air Force has brought 12 fourth generation air superiority fighters F-15 Falcons C and D Block and 3 C-130 heavy lifters.

Indian Air Force has deployed its frontline air superiority fighter bomber Sukhoi 30-MKI, deep penetration strike bomber aircraft Jaguar, French made fighter jet Mirage 2000, and US made C-130J heavy transport plane and Awacs aircraft.

IAF said: “The aim of exercise is to provide operational exposure and undertake mutual exchange of best practices towards enhancing operational capability.”
