NBC Bearings-Ahamani Advanced Inc Partnership for Drone Manufacturing in India: National Engineering Industries Ltd. (NBC Bearings), the flagship engineering company of the multi-billion-dollar CKA Birla Group, has entered into a strategic partnership with Ahamani EV Technology India Pvt. Ltd., the Indian subsidiary of Taiwan-based Ahamani Advanced Inc., to accelerate the commercialisation and adoption of advanced drone technologies in India. The partnership was announced on January 16 in New Delhi.
As part of the collaboration, NBC Bearings will acquire a 30% equity stake in Ahamani India, marking a significant strategic investment aimed at strengthening India’s domestic drone ecosystem. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to building a scalable, market-driven technology platform aligned with the Government of India’s Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.
The collaboration seeks to combine Ahamani’s advanced drone platforms, power systems, and control technologies with NBC’s precision engineering expertise, large-scale manufacturing capabilities, and established quality systems. Together, the two companies aim to address rapidly growing demand across a wide spectrum of drone applications, including industrial, commercial, and potentially defence-related uses.
Under the partnership, Ahamani India will act as the focal platform for expanding the availability of high-performance drone systems and critical components tailored to Indian market requirements. Leveraging Ahamani’s innovation-led technology base developed in Taiwan, the collaboration will focus on delivering reliable, scalable, and cost-effective solutions designed for Indian operating conditions.
NBC Bearings’ extensive manufacturing infrastructure, deep engineering know-how, and strong market reach are expected to support faster localisation of drone systems and components. This will help shorten go-to-market timelines while maintaining global benchmarks for performance, safety, and reliability. The companies also aim to create a supply chain ecosystem capable of serving both domestic demand and export markets.
Rohit Saboo, President and CEO of National Engineering Industries Ltd., said that the partnership allows NBC to extend its engineering strengths into emerging technology domains with strong long-term potential. He noted that the collaboration would help meet India’s growing demand for advanced drone solutions while contributing to the development of a robust domestic technology ecosystem.
Tzu Chi Kung, Founder and Chairman of Ahamani Advanced Inc., described India as one of the most important growth markets for advanced drone applications. She said that partnering with NBC enables Ahamani to accelerate its market expansion by combining strong local manufacturing capabilities with its proven drone and power electronics technologies. The focus, she added, would remain on delivering practical and scalable solutions for real-world industrial and commercial use cases.
The partnership represents a key milestone in Ahamani’s India roadmap, reinforcing its commitment to long-term localisation, customer-centric innovation, and market development, while enabling NBC Bearings to expand into future-ready engineering and mobility technologies.
