This remarkable achievement was carried out by test jumpers from the Indian Air Force, demonstrating the system’s reliability, efficiency, and advanced design features. The MCPS is now the only parachute system in use by the Indian Armed Forces that can be deployed at altitudes above 25,000 feet.

MoD Signs $79 Million Deal with MKU Limited for Advanced Night Sights for Indian Army’s Assault Rifles: New Delhi, October 15, 2025: In a significant step towards enhancing the operational capabilities of the Indian Army, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) has signed a contract worth $79 million (₹659.47 crore) for the procurement of advanced Night Sight (Image Intensifier) systems for the 7.62 x 51mm SIG 716 Assault Rifles. The agreement, finalized on October 15, 2025, involves a consortium led by M/s MKU Ltd and M/s Medbit Technologies Pvt Ltd. This cutting-edge technology is set to provide Indian soldiers with enhanced operational effectiveness during night operations, particularly by improving target acquisition in low-light conditions.
