LAT Aerospace Acquires Sharang Shakti; New Delhi: LAT Aerospace, backed by Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal, has acquired Gurugram-based defense robotics startup Sharang Shakti. This acquisition represents the first major move by LAT Aerospace to consolidate its technological base as it shifts focus toward building indigenous capabilities in both the defense and civilian aviation sectors. Deepinder Goyal, in a post on February 24, highlighted the move as a critical step in the company’s broader mission to develop next-generation civil aviation platforms while strengthening defense capabilities.

Expansion into Defence Robotics

Previously focused on improving regional air travel, LAT Aerospace is now broadening its focus to include defense technologies. The acquisition of Sharang Shakti, which specializes in autonomous systems and robotics, will allow LAT to develop cutting-edge capabilities in areas such as autonomy, perception, sensing, navigation, and control systems. These technologies have applications not only in defense but also in the civilian aviation sector, showcasing the growing convergence between the two industries.
