Saudi Arabia World Defense Show: Saudi Arabia formally opened the third edition of the World Defense Show (WDS) in Riyadh on Sunday (February 8, 2026). The show that concludes on February 12, 2026, is organized by the General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI), bringing together official delegations, government entities, and leading international defense and security companies.
GAMI Governor Ahmad Al-Ohali said the upcoming edition underscores Saudi Arabia’s commitment to innovation, localization, and building an integrated defense ecosystem. He noted that the show serves as a strategic platform connecting government bodies with international partners to support the development of the Kingdom’s defense industry.

Al-Ohali explained that the exhibition will feature a comprehensive program, including live air and land demonstrations, static displays, and newly introduced zones. These additions are designed to enhance opportunities for partnership, collaboration, and integration between Saudi government entities and major national and global defense companies.

He added that the World Defense Show supports Saudi Arabia’s goal of localizing more than 50% of military spending under Vision 2030, while also contributing to improved operational readiness and strengthening the Kingdom’s strategic independence in the defense sector.
WDS Chief Executive Officer Andrew Pearcey highlighted the scale of the event, noting that the exhibition includes a fully equipped airport with a 2,700-meter runway, four taxiways, and expansive display areas. These facilities allow for the showcasing of the latest aircraft and reinforce the show’s status as a leading global defense event capable of hosting world-class integrated demonstrations.
The third edition of the World Defense Show is expected to surpass participation levels seen in previous editions, reflecting continued growth in exhibitor numbers, official delegations, and international engagement.
