Navantia Wins MRO Contract for Turkish Navy Ship TCG Anadolu: Ankara, 13 April 2026 — Spanish shipbuilder Navantia and the Turkish Naval Shipyards General Directorate (TGM) have signed a new framework agreement to provide comprehensive life-cycle support for the Turkish Navy’s amphibious assault ship TCG Anadolu, strengthening long-standing maritime cooperation between Spain and Turkey.
The agreement was formalized on 8 April at TGM’s headquarters in Ankara, with Alfonso Valea González, Navantia’s Commercial Director for Europe and Turkey, and Emre Dinçer, Director General of TGM, signing on behalf of their respective organizations.
Under the three-year agreement—renewable for another three years—Navantia will deliver a wide range of maintenance, repair, and technical support services for TCG Anadolu. The Spanish firm will also provide on-site and remote assistance, updates to technical documentation, and specialized training for Turkish personnel. The flexible structure of the contract allows the Turkish Navy to request services as needed to maintain optimal operational readiness of the vessel and its systems.

Built at SEDEF Shipyards in Istanbul under a 2015 contract, TCG Anadolu is based on Navantia’s design of the Spanish Navy’s LHD Juan Carlos I and the Australian ALHD class. Navantia’s role included providing engineering support, technology transfer, five diesel generator sets from its Engine Factory, and a sophisticated Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS) developed by Navantia Sistemas.
The agreement builds on ongoing collaboration between the two institutions. Since 2023, a spare parts supply contract for TCG Anadolu has remained active, reflecting the partners’ commitment to long-term cooperation.

During the signing ceremony, both parties expressed appreciation for the teams involved in bringing the agreement to fruition and reaffirmed their shared intent to continue strengthening the strategic partnership between Navantia and the Turkish naval industry.
