US awards $73 million contract to UVision, Mistral for Hero-120SF loitering munitions

ARLINGTON, VA (June 10, 2024) – In a move to bolster its capabilities, the U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) has awarded a $73.5 million contract to UVision Inc. and Mistral Inc. for the procurement of Hero-120SF Loitering Munitions. The contract encompasses not just the munitions themselves, but also spare parts, engineering modifications, training for new equipment, and the conversion process to integrate these loitering munitions into medium-range precision strike systems.

Hero-120SF: Designed for Power and Precision

The Hero-120SF is a mid-range anti-tank weapon system, specifically designed to deliver powerful strikes against armored targets while minimizing collateral damage. This system boasts enhanced payload capacity, advanced guidance technology, and the versatility to be deployed from various platforms. Production of the Hero-120SF will be undertaken at UVision USA’s facilities in Virginia, alongside the newly opened SAIC plant.

Collaboration and Commitment

Major General (Ret.) Avi Mizrachi, Chairman of UVision USA, highlighted the significance of this contract. “This substantial agreement with the U.S. Special Operations Command, a cornerstone of our national defense, reinforces the unwavering commitment of both UVision and Mistral to providing the U.S. with cutting-edge technology and the operational expertise required to safeguard national security,” he said. The strong partnership between UVision and Mistral will be instrumental in fulfilling the terms of this contract.

Delivery by 2029

The project outlined in this contract is anticipated to be completed by May 2029. Mistral will oversee the industrial and commercial aspects of the project throughout its duration.
