Rheinmetall and MSC Romania’s Mangalia Shipyard: Rheinmetall and Swiss shipping company MSC have secured the successful bid to acquire Romania’s Mangalia shipyard for around €138 million, with plans to transform the facility into a dual-use shipbuilding centre serving both civilian and military markets. The acquisition is expected to be completed in the coming weeks, creating a new industrial base for naval construction and commercial shipbuilding in south-eastern Europe.
