First A321neo order strengthens fleet efficiency and sustainability goals.

Tigerari Taiwan-Airbus Contract Signing Ceremony.
Tigerair Taiwan has signed a purchase agreement with Airbus for four A321neo aircraft, marking the low-cost carrier’s first order for the type. The new aircraft will play a key role in supporting the airline’s network expansion strategy while delivering improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions compared with previous-generation aircraft.
The agreement reinforces Tigerair Taiwan’s long-term growth plans as it seeks to increase capacity on high-demand routes and enhance overall operating efficiency.
Greater Commonality Across the A320 Family
Tigerair Taiwan currently operates a fleet of 17 A320 Family aircraft, comprising nine A320ceo and eight A320neo aircraft. The addition of the A321neo will further increase commonality across the fleet, helping to reduce training, maintenance, and operating costs.
As part of the A320 Family, the A321neo allows pilots, maintenance crews, and operational teams to leverage existing expertise and infrastructure, supporting a smoother and more cost-effective fleet expansion.

Boosting Capacity on High-Demand Routes
Chairperson Joyce Huang of Tigerair Taiwan said the A321neo order is central to the airline’s “third-generation” fleet expansion strategy.
“The purchase of A321neo aircraft is a cornerstone of our ‘third-generation’ fleet expansion, designed to maximise operational efficiency as we scale for regional dominance,” Huang said. Configured with 232 seats, the aircraft will allow the airline to increase capacity on its high-demand “golden routes” while accelerating network growth.
She added that the higher-capacity, lower-cost-per-seat aircraft will enable Tigerair Taiwan to serve more passengers across more destinations, reinforcing its position as Taiwan’s leading low-cost carrier while advancing both commercial and environmental, social and governance (ESG) objectives.

A321neo: Efficiency, Range and Flexibility
The A321neo is the largest member of Airbus’ best-selling A320neo Family and is known for its segment-leading operating economics and extended range. These capabilities allow airlines to serve regional and medium-haul routes with greater flexibility while maximising efficiency.
Compared with previous-generation aircraft, the A321neo delivers at least a 20% reduction in fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions, supporting airlines’ efforts to lower operating costs and environmental impact.

Part of a Widely Adopted Aircraft Family
The A320neo Family has received more than 10,000 orders from over 130 customers worldwide, making it one of the most successful commercial aircraft programmes in history. All Airbus aircraft are currently capable of operating with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), with Airbus targeting 100% SAF capability across its fleet by 2030.
With the addition of the A321neo, Tigerair Taiwan is positioning itself to meet rising regional demand with a more efficient, higher-capacity, and environmentally responsible fleet.
