Embraer-Adani Defence & Aerospace E175 regional jet assembly line India: In a significant boost to India’s regional aviation ambitions, Adani Defence & Aerospace and Embraer have advanced plans to establish a Final Assembly Line (FAL) for the E175 regional jet in India. The enhanced Memorandum of Understanding was exchanged in New Delhi in the presence of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and India’s Commerce & Industry Minister Piyush Goyal.

The development builds on an initial January 2026 agreement and outlines a broader roadmap to create a fully integrated Regional Transport Aircraft (RTA) ecosystem in India — spanning manufacturing, supply chains, aftermarket services, training, and order acquisition.

E175: Aligning with UDAN and Tier-2 and Tier-3 connectivity expansion

With India projected to need at least 500 aircraft in the 80–146 seat category over the next two decades, the E175 — seating up to 88 passengers — is positioned to unlock underserved markets. Its operating economics align with the government’s UDAN regional connectivity scheme, which aims to connect Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.

For Adani Defence, the proposed FAL is not merely about assembling aircraft. It represents a strategic leap toward Aatmanirbhar aviation — generating high-skill jobs, strengthening MRO capabilities, and embedding India within Embraer’s global aerospace supply chain.

Strategic Depth: Brazil–India Aerospace Corridor

Embraer, which already has nearly 50 aircraft operating in India across commercial and defense segments, sees the country as a high-growth regional aviation market. For Brazil and India, the partnership signals growing South-South cooperation in advanced manufacturing.

If realized, the FAL would transform India from a buyer of regional jets into a producer — anchoring a domestic aerospace value chain that could serve both domestic and export markets.
