India Naval Armament Organisation: Mussoorie | February 13, 2026: The Naval Armament Organisation (NAO) has successfully concluded its 24th Officers-in-Charge (OIC) Conference and 7th IT, Project and Infrastructure Meeting (IPIM) at the Institute of Technology Management (ITM), Mussoorie, on February 12–13, 2026.

The high-level deliberations were chaired by Shri Divakar Jayant, INAS, Director General of Naval Armament. Senior Indian Naval Armament Service (INAS) officers serving as Chief General Managers and General Managers of Naval Armament Depots participated in the two-day event, focusing on administrative efficiencies, personnel management, engineering technologies, and progress in ongoing IT and infrastructure initiatives.

The conference provided a strategic platform for synchronising organisational goals and assessing preparedness across depots to support the expanding operational footprint of the Indian Navy.

Strengthening Operational Readiness and Infrastructure

A key focus of the deliberations was reviewing the readiness of human resources and critical infrastructure at field units to ensure seamless logistical and armament support to frontline naval platforms.

Addressing the gathering, Director General Divakar Jayant commended the Naval Armament Depots for their sustained support to fleet operations. He underscored the importance of achieving Aatmanirbharta in armament maintenance and infrastructure development, particularly in the context of evolving maritime security challenges.

The discussions also highlighted the need to adopt innovative engineering practices and sustainable solutions to enhance efficiency while maintaining high standards of safety and reliability in ammunition handling and storage systems.

Digital Transformation Roadmap

The 7th IT, Project and Infrastructure Meeting ran concurrently with the OIC Conference, placing strong emphasis on accelerating digital transformation within the organisation.

Senior officers reviewed progress on IT-enabled systems, infrastructure modernisation projects and digital integration efforts aimed at improving transparency, tracking and lifecycle management of naval armaments.

The two-day event concluded with a comprehensive roadmap for leveraging emerging information technologies to modernise processes and ensure that the Naval Armament Organisation remains future-ready. The roadmap envisions enhanced digital integration, improved project execution timelines and strengthened infrastructure resilience to support India’s maritime interests.

With increasing operational demands on the Indian Navy, the conference reaffirmed NAO’s commitment to aligning administrative efficiency, technological innovation and infrastructure preparedness with the Navy’s long-term strategic objectives.
