Located at WorldMark 4, Aerocity, the new office will serve as Embraer’s central hub for operations in India. A Commitment to Strengthening India’s Aerospace Industry

Embraer’s presence in India dates back 20 years, when the first E-Jets entered service in 2005, revolutionizing regional connectivity within the country. Since then, nearly 50 Embraer aircraft, spanning 11 different types, have operated in India. These aircraft are used by a wide range of stakeholders, including the Indian Air Force (IAF), other government agencies, business jet operators, and commercial airline Star Air.

The opening of the new office signifies a renewed and expanded commitment to the country’s aviation and defence sectors. Embraer’s strategic focus includes scaling up its operations, building local teams, and enhancing its capabilities in areas such as procurement, supply chain management, and engineering.

Francisco Gomes Neto, President and CEO of Embraer, highlighted the significance of the move, stating, “The opening of our New Delhi corporate office marks a bold new chapter for Embraer in India – a market central to our global vision. This office spans across all our business units and will strengthen collaboration with partners, customers, and suppliers. We are committed to bringing world-class technology and innovation to support India’s aerospace growth, advance self-reliance, and help realize its ambition of becoming a global aviation hub.”

Growing Defence and Business Aviation Footprint

Embraer has also seen considerable success in India’s defence and business aviation sectors. The ERJ145 platform, for instance, is the foundation for the Indian Air Force’s Netra AEW&C (Airborne Early Warning & Control) aircraft, while the Legacy 600 is used for the transport of government officials and VIPs by the IAF and Border Security Force (BSF).

In the commercial aviation segment, Embraer’s E-Jets family, including the E175 and ERJ 145, continues to serve smaller, regional airports, improving connectivity to tier-two and tier-three cities. Star Air, an all-Embraer operator, has already expanded its operations across India using these aircraft. This push aligns with India’s growing aspirations to become a leading global aviation hub.

Advancing Urban Air Mobility in India

In a forward-looking move, Embraer is actively pursuing partnerships in India’s burgeoning Urban Air Mobility (UAM) space through its subsidiary, Eve Air Mobility. One such collaboration includes working with JetSetGo to deploy Eve’s Urban Air Traffic Management software, Vector, which aims to reduce congestion and improve sustainable travel options in urban areas. Embraer is also exploring the launch of electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft with Hunch Mobility in Bangalore, positioning the city as a potential hub for urban air mobility in India.

A Deepening Relationship Between India and Brazil

The opening of the new office also underscores the strengthening of diplomatic and economic ties between India and Brazil. As Embraer expands its operations in India, it reflects the growing partnership between the two nations in the aerospace and defence sectors. Brazil’s Defence Minister Jose Mucio emphasized this collaboration during the inauguration, noting that Embraer’s capabilities would contribute significantly to India’s defence modernization efforts.

Bosco da Costa Junior, President and CEO of Embraer Defense & Security, also spoke at the event, highlighting the company’s ambitions to further grow in India’s defence sector. “Our aircraft have earned a reputation for performance and reliability, and we are confident that our multi-mission medium transport aircraft, the C-390 Millennium, is perfectly suited to bring additional capabilities to the Indian Air Force.”
