Video: Tata-Airbus to make C295 transport aircraft in Vadodara plant

Tata-Airubs C295 Aircraft Plant Vadodara: A consortium led by Tata Group of India and Airbus Defence & Space of Spain would manufacture C-295 tactical military transport aircraft in Vadodara, Gujarat in India.

As per the agreement, Airbus Defence & Space, Spain would supply 16 C-295MW aircraft to the Indian Air Force in flyaway condition while another 40 aircraft would be manufactured by a consortium of Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL), Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Airbus Defence & Space S.A. Spain in India.

Tata led consortium has already identified more than 125 small and medium companies that would join the project as ancillary units in production of the country’s first military transport aircraft.

The project has been advertised as a shining example of Make in India and Self-Reliance India schemes of the Government of India that are aimed at developing domestic defence manufacturing capabilities.
