EDGE Group – Barzan Holding Joint Venture DIMDEX 2026: Abu Dhabi/Doha — EDGE Group of the UAE and Qatar’s Barzan Holdings have agreed to establish a strategic joint venture aimed at the collaborative development of advanced defence technologies, marking a significant step in strengthening long-term industrial and defence cooperation between the two countries.

The agreement was formalised at a signing ceremony held at the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX) 2026, which commenced today in Qatar’s capital, Doha. The joint venture will focus on co-developing next-generation defence technologies aligned with the evolving national security requirements of both the UAE and Qatar.

According to the companies, the partnership is designed to reinforce sustainable industrial capability in both countries by leveraging complementary strengths across technical expertise, operational insight and industrial capacity. Through this integrated approach, the joint venture aims to enhance the development and delivery of advanced solutions while supporting national defence priorities and long-term self-reliance.

The collaboration reflects a shared commitment by EDGE and Barzan Holdings to deepen regional cooperation, accelerate innovation and strengthen local defence ecosystems. By pooling resources and capabilities, the joint venture is expected to create new opportunities for technology transfer, skills development and industrial growth across the UAE and Qatar.

The announcement comes as EDGE showcases its comprehensive portfolio of defence and advanced technology capabilities at DIMDEX 2026. Visitors can engage with EDGE’s full offering at Stand H8 132 at the Qatar National Convention Centre in Doha, where the exhibition will run until 22 January.

DIMDEX 2026 serves as a major international platform for defence and maritime security stakeholders, and the EDGE–Barzan agreement underscores the growing emphasis on regional partnerships and collaborative development to address future security challenges.
