Leonardo acquires Becrypt: London, March 11, 2026: Leonardo S.p.A. has taken a decisive step to bolster its cybersecurity capabilities with a binding agreement to acquire Becrypt Ltd, a UK-based specialist in secure data transfer, endpoint security, and cloud protection. The acquisition, executed through Leonardo’s UK subsidiary Leonardo UK Ltd, aims to enhance the company’s Zero Trust portfolio and strengthen its role within the UK and the wider Five Eyes cyber defence domain.
The initiative complements Leonardo’s existing collaboration with the UK Government and the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) to safeguard the country’s most sensitive digital environments. It also aligns with the company’s broader European strategy, delivering next-generation cyber solutions across NATO and allied defence networks.

Strengthening Zero Trust Capabilities
Becrypt, founded in 1996 and headquartered in London, employs around 100 specialists focused on technologies that protect data up to Top Secret classification. Its offerings include secure operating systems, secure collaboration tools, secure data transfer solutions, and mobile device management platforms, which have been critical for the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) in supporting multi-domain operations.
The acquisition enables Leonardo to integrate Becrypt’s advanced capabilities into its own cybersecurity portfolio, enhancing the group’s endpoint security, data protection, and cloud security solutions.
