L&T Teevra-40 mm Naval Gun System: India’s defence and engineering company Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has signed a contract to supply its Teevra 40 mm naval gun systems to the Indonesian Navy. This is first ever defence export from India to Indonesia, while India’s Brahmos Aerospace is supplying Brahmos supersonic cruise missiles to the Philippines.

According to reports, India’s defence and engineering giant Larsen & Toubro will supply its Teevra 40 (Fast-40) system to the Indonesian Navy which will be installed on Indonesian Navy’s Teluk Bintuni-class landing ships.

A contract for supplying the two units of Teevra 40 naval guns was signed with the Indonesian Navy in October this year.  Larsen & Toubro will work with Indonesian defence firm BTI Defence on the contract, and the latter will provide after-sales service for the weapon system while it is operational.

In partnership with the Indian defence company, Indonesia’s BTI Defence had introduced Teevra-40 mm naval gun systems to Indonesia in September last year.
