India Thursday successfully tested surface-to-surface tactical missile called ‘Prahar’ (Strike in English), from intermediate test range in Balasore district in Eastern Indian state Odisha.

Monitoring equipments and electro optical systems tracked the missile throughout its flight.

“Prahar is a contemporary weapon system capable of carrying multiple types of warheads and neutralizing a wide variety of targets.”

India’s defence minister Nirmala Sitharaman congratulated the country’s premier research and development organisation DRDO, Indian Army, associate industries and team members.

Nirmala Sitharaman said, “Indigenously developed Prahar will further strengthen our defence capabilities.”
