India’s state owned missile company Bharat Dynamics pays dividend to government

Bharat Dynamics Limited: The state owned ammunition and missile manufacturer Bharat Dynamics Limited Thursday paid an interim dividend of Rs 100.51 crore ($13.58 million) to the government. The dividend cheque was handed over by Siddharth Mishra, chairman and managing director of BDL to defence minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi.

The Hyderabad-based DPSU has declared interim dividend of Rs 6.25 per share of Rs 10/- each for the financial year 2019-20.

The BDL manufactures ballistic missile Agni (Fire), surface-to-air missile Akash (Sky), Advanced Lightweight Torpedo, Counter Measure Dispensing Systems, Milan 2T and Konkurs anti-tank missiles for Indian military.

The dividend paid by the company pertains to the Government of India’s holding in the company. The interim dividend declared by the Bharat Dynamics Limited works out to  62.5 per cent of the paid-up share capital of Rs 183.28 crore.

Secretary (Defence Production) Raj Kumar and other senior officials from Ministry of Defence & BDL were present on the occasion.
