Pratt & Whitney’s new India website showcases country specific products & services

Defence News India: In a bid to boost their presence in Indian defence market, global defence and aviation giants have been realigning their India strategy with the country specific programmes and policies. In this series, world’s leading aircraft engine manufacturer Pratt & Whitney Monday announced the launch of its India specific website to showcase of range of products and services it offers in the country.

“The Pratt & Whitney India site offers a better representation of our engine portfolio and its capabilities,” said Ashmita Sethi, Managing Director of Pratt & Whitney India.

Pratt & Whitney has been present in India for more than seven decades and competes with global aircraft manufacturers like GE for a share of opportunities available in the country’s defence and aerospace sectors.

“Engaging with our customers, employees, partners and suppliers is a top priority for us, and this newly updated website will be used as an effective tool across our business functions to visually demonstrate our extensive engine portfolio and technology,” said Ashmita Sethi.

Pratt & Whitney is a division of United Technologies Corp (NYSE: UTX) and aims to support more than 1,250 engines presently in use in the region by expanding its India operations.

The India specific website features an overview of Pratt & Whitney engines, presence of the company in the country, customer training, latest news, and investments and corporate social responsibility programmes run by the company in the country.

Whether learning about the engine families for the first time, or seeing how Pratt & Whitney is helping to connect families and support aviation growth in the region, the website demonstrates why Pratt & Whitney is a leader in aviation. Learn more about Pratt & Whitney in India here.

“For more than seven decades, Pratt & Whitney has been a trusted partner of India in providing game-changing technologies for the future. Today, Pratt & Whitney is committed to supporting more than 1,250 engines in service in the region,” said the company in a statement.

Pratt & Whitney said these engines include commercial aircraft powered by GTF, V2500 and PW100 engines, F117-powered C-17 transports and PT6A-25A-powered PC-7 trainers that are in service of Indian Air Force.

These engines are also in use in many small jets, helicopters and turboprops flown by governments, businesses and individuals throughout the country, said the company.

Pratt & Whitney recently announced that Air India Engineering Services Limited will provide maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services in support of GTF engines and customers in India.

In 2015, Pratt & Whitney opened its India Customer Training Center in Hyderabad with an aim to provide hands-on maintenance training to customers in the region.
